Abstract:

Three plants: Plant at top, horizontal, growing from the l., possibly "hermodactillorum" (family Iridaceae) Hermodactylus tuberosus (Snake's-head Iris) or (family Liliaceae) Colchicum variegatum. Plant at center, "herpilles" (family Lamiaceae), probably Thymus serpyllum, Lemon Thyme, Wild Thyme. Plant at bottom, horizontal, growing from the l., "heccinum" (family Compositae, Carduus tribe) Carduus pycnocephalus Plumeless Thistle, or Echinops sphaerocephalus, Globe Thistle.
